Environmental Health and Safety Management System
Moses Lake Industries, Inc. (MLI) including Moses Lake Dalian Chemical Industries (MLDCI), a specialty chemical manufacturer to the electronics industry, is committed to maintaining a high standard of environmental, health, safety, and security (EHSS) performance. We strive for EHSS excellence by developing program responsibility across all levels of our organization and through awareness and training programs. We will continually improve our EHSS program through our EHSS Management System (EHSSMS) which is our framework for evaluating aspects/impacts and the completion of improvement goals. To this end, we commit to the following practices:
Provide a Safe, Secure and Healthy Workplace
The Company commits to providing a safe, secure and healthy workplace for our employees, contractors, visitors and the communities in which we operate. We believe that incidents are preventable and we will continuously improve our systems to ensure that they are safe, effective and robust. We require our employees, contractors and visitors to comply with all applicable Company safe work practices, policies, procedures and to report all incidents, unsafe conditions/practices and security breaches.
Maintain an EHSSMS
The Company has established, implemented and will maintain an EHSSMS that will meet or exceed the ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 standards. The EHSSMS will be audited to ensure it remains effective and proactive. Senior management will review audit findings and the performance of the EHSSMS, making changes as appropriate.
Maintain EHSS Regulatory Compliance
The Company will comply with all applicable regulatory and other requirements including more stringent company requirements. We will work with regulatory agencies, the local community and our employees to ensure that we identify, prioritize and address emerging areas of EHSS concern. We encourage contractors, designers and suppliers to comply with EHSS standards at least as stringent as our own.
Provide Training
The Company will inform employees, contractors and visitors of relevant EHSS procedures, policies and the EHSSMS as appropriate. Through training we will encourage personnel to be advocates ofthis policy.
Prevent Pollution
The Company will promote pollution prevention to conserve natural resources and minimize emissions to air, land, and water. We will work continuously towards the goals of waste elimination, minimization, substitution, and recycling.
EHS Goals 2010-2011
Each year the Company establishes clear measurable goals and tracks performance against those goals via its two main overlapping Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Systems.
